J. CHRISTIAN BROWN is currently a senior medical student at the Alpert Medical School. A native Texan, Christian grew up in Denison, Texas, the birthplace of Eisenhower. He attended the University of Notre Dame, earning a Bachelor of Science in biological chemistry. He will be starting surgical residency training at Shands Academic Health Center, located on the University of Florida College of Medicine campus in Gainesville. Intending to pursue a fellowship in pediatric surgery, Christian is interested in becoming a laboratory researcher and clinical educator. When not studying, Tendo enjoys writing, playing music, and rock climbing.

SAM KLEIN is a second year medical student at Brown. He is from Forest Hill, MD—and still entertains hope that the Orioles will make the playoffs in 2013. When not skiing, painting, or grilling out with friends, Sam enjoys studying.

REBECCA MACDONELL-YILMAZ grew up on Long Island and earned a Bachelor of Arts in French language and literature as well as a Master of Public Health from Dartmouth College, followed by a degree in medicine from Stony Brook University. She is currently a resident in pediatrics at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and plans to pursue fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology. Her work has been published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, The New Physician (the journal of the American Medical Student Association), and Paumanok II, an anthology of poetry and photography by Long Islanders.
